L'evento
The path traverses the wooded slope on the right bank of the Visone stream, then turns sharply left off the broad unpaved track and climbs more steeply along a narrow path through dense vegetation.
From the ridge, views open north-west towards Cavatore and Grognardo, with Ponzone and Acqui Terme further away and the Alps visible on clear days. In May and June, bright flowering broom, Spartium junceum, and flowering privet, Ligustrum vulgaris, add colour and scent.
The route descends slightly to a municipal road, then turns left after a short distance to climb Monte Menno, at 405 m. A large modern cross marks the summit, with broad views over the surrounding area.
Small bends descend the broom-covered southern slope to Santa Croce and the chapel of Nostra Signora della Salute, dedicated to local-born Monsignor Pietrino Principe. We close a small loop and retrace part of the outward route.
